It was before all to go towards the people who loved the album that I wanted to do the clip, with the idea of giving to his fans (I consider myself a fan) a visual object to share with its own universe and where the music of Nicolas Jaar will have its own space. I was amazed of seeing no previous videos of Nicolas Jaar while typing his songs on YouTube, you can only find the music. I think that music has something deeply visual. As the character of Gregorino was born, a late-carrer cop spinning (like a vinyl)
The shooting was fantastic, it lasted 7 days. We shot around in Paris and its suburbs. In our attempt we tried to create a particular universe, an urban environnement not identificable where our characters would sail between anxiety and excitation, coldness and a warmer climate. For this part, the work of Amine Berrada (the cinematographer) was really important, he did a perfect job. I only have a wish to keep making those kinds of atmospheres, to explore this city full of shadows that is capable of beating as a dramatical tension. I hop this will be the case with my future short film. - Lucas Duchemin
